A new season of Fortnite is at hand, and the latest digs even deeper into the battle royal story that encompasses reality. Today, Epic Games season 6 officially launched of the game’s second chapter, called ‘Primal’. It takes place directly after the “Zero Crisis Finale” which ended season 5 and introduced a new prehistoric biome to the island.
When players start playing the season for the first time, they are greeted with a fast-paced movie – which you can see below – after a short, yet intense single-player adventure, where your Agent Jonesy helps save reality.
The new area contains a tower tower in the middle of the island – where the zero-point explosion of season 5 took place – surrounded by a town and other new places, replacing the strange desert of last season. More importantly, animals are now roaming the island, including everything from wolves and wild boars to seemingly harmless creatures like chickens and frogs. Along with this is a new manufacturing mechanic with which players can build improvised weapons, such as new bows, from hunted wildlife and discarded technology.
In addition, those who make the battle pass can expect to unlock the usual range of new character skins and other cosmetic items. This time, it features characters related to the ongoing story, such as Agent Jones, as well as someone called the “Spire Assassin,” and Raz, who is described as “searching for The Spire’s mysteries.” Of course it would not be Fortnite without licensed bindings. This season it comes in the form of Lara Croft from Tomb Raider, Raven of Teen Titans, and at some point in the future, Brazilian soccer star Neymar (as expected).
FortniteThe previous season kicked off in December last year, and it also kicked off with an impressive live event that turned off the Marvel-themed story – which was apparently the biggest event to date. Season 5, however, will probably be best remembered for the large number of licensed compounds, which include everything The Mandalorian to professional sports. Those who want to dig a little deeper into the ever-evolving Fortnite lore can also watch an upcoming Batman crossover cartoon.
